Provide value first… Then promote (if you want)

We want each of our speakers to provide value first before focusing too much on the product/company they represent.

A good rule of thumb is to spend about 80% of your time sharing your general expertise in your area, focusing on educational content, and the rest of your time talking about your specific product.

Prepare early and be open to feedback

If you’re a speaker, please try to prepare early and keep us updated on your progress.

Once you have slides and/or notes, please feel free to send them our way so we can review them.

Keep your demo concise and practice, practice, practice

Demos are not required, but if you decide to do one, it’s very important to practice it many times and keep it concise.

It may be a good idea to have a backup video to fall back on in case it doesn’t work the first time around.

Be curious about the audience

It’s easy to make assumptions about the audience, but those assumptions are not always accurate.

So feel free to ask questions during your presentation, talk to the participants beforehand, etc.
