Objective: The People team organizes a weekly "Guess the Teammate" challenge that involves posting baby pictures of a selected teammate on Slack, with participants guessing which teammate it is. The first person to correctly identify the teammate wins the challenge. Weekly winners are entered to win a quarterly prize.
Frequency: The challenge occurs once a week, typically on Wednesdays. We alternate posting time between 8am CT and 6pm CT to accommodate for teammates in various time zones.
Execution:
- Announcement: At the designated time, the scheduled Slack message will be posted with the baby photos, teammate info, and instructions on how to participate.
- Participants should submit their guesses as threaded replies to the original post.
- Guesses should include the teammate's full name or Slack username.
- Monitoring Responses: People Ops monitors the Slack channel for responses and notes the first person to correctly identify the teammate.
- Declaring the Winner: The winner will be announced and congratulated within 1 week of posting.
- Prior to quarterly kickoffs, use a random generator to select a quarterly winner from all of that quarter’s weekly winners. The quarterly winner is announced during company kickoff meeting. (Prepare the slide beforehand)
Rules:
- Eligibility: All team members are eligible to participate.
- One Guess per Person: Each participant is allowed only one guess per challenge.
- Fair Play: Participants should refrain from sharing answers with others during the challenge.
- Response Time: In case of multiple correct guesses, the winner is determined by the earliest correct response.
